In the wake of the September 11th attacks, thousands of young Americans answered the call to serve their country. Among them was Staff Sergeant Tony Vaccaro, a bright and promising young man from a small town in Pennsylvania. Tony's father, John, was a retired Marine who had served in Vietnam. He knew the dangers of war, but he was also proud of his son's decision to serve.

Tony was deployed to Iraq in 2003. He served in some of the most dangerous areas of the country, and he witnessed firsthand the horrors of war. He saw friends and fellow soldiers killed and wounded. He saw innocent civilians caught in the crossfire. And he came home a changed man.

John Vaccaro was there for his son every step of the way. He supported him during his deployment, and he helped him to heal after he came home. In this poignant and powerful memoir, John shares his story of being the father of a soldier at war. He writes about the worry, the fear, and the pride he felt. He also writes about the challenges Tony faced when he came home, and the ways in which he has helped his son to heal.

Reflections of a Father Whose Son Fought in Iraq is a must-read for anyone who has been touched by war or who wants to understand the sacrifices made by our soldiers and their families. It is a story of love, loss, and hope. It is a story that will stay with you long after you finish reading it.
