In this article, we'll show you how to make a Christmas snow globe using a mason jar. This project is perfect for kids and adults alike, and it's a great way to get into the holiday spirit. So gather your supplies and let's get started!

Materials

  • Mason jar with a lid
  • Glycerin (available at most craft stores)
  • Distilled water
  • Glitter (in your choice of colors)
  • Miniature Christmas figurines or other small objects
  • Hot glue gun

Instructions

  1. Start by removing the lid from the mason jar. Apply a thin layer of hot glue around the rim of the lid, and then place it back on the jar. This will help to seal the lid and prevent the water from leaking out.
  2. Next, fill the mason jar about 3/4 full with distilled water. Add a few drops of glycerin to the water, and then stir until the glycerin is evenly distributed. The glycerin will help to slow down the settling of the glitter, so that your snow globe will have a more realistic snowfall effect.
  3. Now it's time to add the glitter! You can use any color or combination of colors that you like. Simply sprinkle the glitter into the water, and then stir until it is evenly distributed.
  4. Once you're happy with the amount of glitter, it's time to add the miniature Christmas figurines or other small objects. You can use anything you like, such as Santa Claus, snowmen, reindeer, trees, or houses. Simply hot glue the figurines to the inside of the lid.
  5. Finally, screw the lid back on the mason jar, and your snow globe is complete! To use your snow globe, simply shake it gently. The glitter will swirl around the figurines, creating a beautiful and magical snowfall effect.

Tips

  • If you want to make a larger snow globe, you can use a larger mason jar. Just be sure to adjust the amount of water, glycerin, and glitter accordingly.
  • You can also use different types of glitter to create different effects. For example, you could use iridescent glitter to create a more magical look, or you could use chunky glitter to create a more realistic snowfall effect.
  • If you're having trouble getting the glitter to stick to the figurines, you can try using a small amount of clear nail polish. Simply apply a thin layer of nail polish to the figurine, and then sprinkle the glitter on top. The nail polish will help to hold the glitter in place.
  • Once you've finished making your snow globe, you can decorate it with ribbons, bows, or other festive embellishments. You can also add a personal touch by writing your name or a special message on the lid.

We hope you enjoy making your own Christmas snow globe! This easy and fun DIY craft is a great way to get into the holiday spirit, and it's also a beautiful and unique way to decorate your home. So gather your supplies and get started today!
