When I was a young girl growing up in Vietnam, I never imagined that my life would be turned upside down by war. But in 1975, everything changed. My family was forced to flee our home, and we spent the next several years living in refugee camps. It was a difficult and traumatic time, but I never lost hope.

In 1980, I was finally able to come to the United States. I was scared and alone, but I was determined to make a new life for myself. I worked hard to learn English and to get a good education. I eventually became a nurse, and I have been working in the healthcare field ever since.

My journey has not been easy, but I am grateful for the opportunities that I have been given. I am now a proud American citizen, and I am committed to giving back to my community. I have volunteered my time to help other refugees, and I have spoken out against war and violence.

I wrote this book to share my story with others. I want people to know that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope. We can all overcome adversity and achieve our dreams.
